There are several different formats for e-learning available. Some work better than others. Many companies are still finding the right fit and their employees are not necessarily on board.
I was speaking with one such employee at the recent NerdCon held in JHB. He noted that e-learning “finds him wherever he is and there’s no escaping it”. One of the worst days, he says, “is when I switch on my computer and see a message that a new module MUST be completed today”.
Clearly that’s not the preferred reaction.
We believe that this is happening because the employee does not feel it contributes to his/her ability to actually DO the job. That’s why we focus on task-based content. Step-by-step instructions on how to DO the job. And we see daily responses from site employees that this approach is working for them.
