Did you know?

Service stations have monitoring wells on the site and around the tank farm. They are used to check if any product has leaked from an underground tank. Contractors will lower monitoring devices into the well to measure the fuel vapor level. They also use a specific type of crystal which changes color if there is fuel vapor present. This photo is of a groundwater monitoring well, which normally is deep enough to reach the underground water table.
